Getting to know Craig
My family and I have lived in Winnipeg for over 55 years and in Charleswood for the last 34 years. I do love this community and wish to continue to serve it as a Pembina Trails School Trustee.
I hold a B.A. (History) from Augsburg College (Minneapolis) and am a Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCMA) qualifying for my accounting designation in 1976. My entire career has been in school business working as Secretary-Treasurer for Pembina Trails School Division and one of its predecessor divisions, Fort Garry School Division.
A summary of my service to Pembina Trails (and legacy Fort Garry) School Division is summarized below:
-1976 to 2020 (43+ years), Secretary-Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities for financial operations, business administration, Board Secretary, collective bargaining, Freedom of Information (FIPPA and PHIA), records management, transportation among other duties;
-2020 to present (4 years), School Trustee representing Pembina Trails Ward 1 (Tuxedo, Charleswood and part Headingly), having served on the Finance, Buildings, Property and Transportation Committee, the Governance Committee and all non-teaching employee collective bargaining committees. Craig currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Craig’s other previous community service includes:
-Member of the Board of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority;
-Member of the Board of Victoria General Hospital;
-Member of the Board of the Society of Management Accountants (now part of CPA Manitoba);
-Member of the Executive of the Manitoba Association of School Business Officials;
-Member of the Board of the Manitoba School Boards Association Pension Plan for Non-Teaching Employees.
